Our history . . .

• The Company was founded in 1980 as a retail clothing store in Atlanta, GA.
• By 1981 the company had moved into the imprinted sportswear Industry by becoming sales reps on large quantities for a T-shirt manufacturer. The company also opened up a wholesale operation to sell small quantities to small & midsize printers.
• In 1982 the company began manufacturing their own apparel using contract knitters, contract dyers, and contract cut & sew facilities.
• In 1986 as our own brands took off, Platinum Sportswear took another step by opening up their first company-owned factory.  The Companies focus is to cater to companies who wanted or were required to purchase "Made in USA" apparel; this being mainly Government, Unions, Corporate America, or just good business operators who thought it important to keep jobs in America.
• In May, 2004 we took our company another step forward and became a member of the UFCW local 1996 and began producing Union Made apparel.
• In July 2013, the assets of GMH Inc dba Platinum Sportswear were purchased by Alexis Holdings, Inc dba Platinum Sportswear.

Today we are a cut and sew manufacturer. This enabled us to control our inventories better, and speed up our manufacturing time to be one of the quickest in the industry.  As the new owner of a company that has been in business for over 35 years, I am excited to be part of a union made company where Made in the USA is gaining momentum.

Our Specialty

Platinum Sportswear manufactures ‘Made in USA’ basic (i.e., blank goods or printable garments) sportswear and competes in a very broad basic sportswear sector characterized by frequently replenished items, such as t-shirts, sweatshirts, sweat pants, etc. Growth and sales in this sector are not primarily driven by fashion. The same styles continue from year to year, with variations only in color, fabric or design. Our basic wear includes men and women and children's t-shirts, golf shirts, sweat pants, sweat shirts, hoodies, night shirts, shorts, etc.

As a manufacture with union labor, a significant amount of our sales comes from our customers who represent companies / corporations who want Made in America apparel with union labor. At Platinum Sportswear we put the same care and quality of workmanship into each order, and we are constantly striving to improve your shopping experience with us.

What started as a family operation in a retail store in 1980 is now a company that is proudly "Made in USA" and "Union Made".

We are headquartered in Norcross GA and our manufacturing plant is located in Tignall, GA.
